The more I travel, the more I like to indulge in a little luxury. There are lots of different options for accomodation to choose from for every budget.  Everything from cheap and cheerful hostel type rooms all the way up to luxury resorts in exotic locations.

I have an ambitious goal to walk the Camino Trail in Spain in 2018 and I need to get much fitter and drop a few kilos. I know I can do as I did it a few years back and had great success.

As I write this travel memoir, the 2017 French Open at Roland Garros is underway. I love watching tennis on TV and have also been to my fair share of tournaments but attending a ‘Grand Slam’ is really special for a tennis fan.

By 2012 we had attended Wimbledon twice, the US Open twice and the Australian Open 13 times, so the French Open was required for us the complete our personal “Grand Slam”!

So the decision was made we were going to achieve our goal for the following year in 2013.

Byron Bay is one of the ‘must visit’ places on the backpacker trail along the Australian east coast, but you’ll find visitors of any age enjoying this popular destination. The attraction is the beautiful beaches, the mild temperatures in the winter months, fantastic summers and of course it’s great a place to surf. Byron’s not just a fun place to hang out and soak up the Aussie beach culture, it’s lighthouse area marks the most easterly point of the Australian mainland.
